restoring a house in the city

today, I purchased a new book based on a recommendation from the lovely katie elliot. now I eagerly wait its arrival in the mail, much like I used to do with domino (sigh). the book, restoring a house in the city, highlights the transformations of twenty-one townhouses, brownstones and row houses in cities in both the united states and canada. I can't wait to get my hot little fists on it.

love these floors.

  1. i am green with envy for this book. it looks amazing. we need help with blinds/curtains! desperate desperate help. if we do curtains where do we get the rods? or are blinds better? need some darkness to prevent our newly shockingly alert and easily distracted baby from being kept awake in the bedrooms by shadows on the walls from trees and lights in our neighbors windows. also i guess from preventing our neighbors from watching my tubby naked behind waddle around in the middle of the night changing diapers. in summary - need window help.

  2. sister soldier, we are here for you. I bet erin is already whipping up some genius ideas. I tend to lean toward curtains - you can get some cheap, amazing and simple ones at ikea, which is smart for the renting situation. I know erin has a soft spot for roman shades. the book should be arriving any day, I will let you know how it is!
