we are spending this quiet, sunny saturday morning looking at houses online and I cannot help but compare each to amas veritas from practical magic. I know erin agrees, she and I both love this movie for the house only. oh sigh, why are houses so rarely ancient and full of character with little crevices and beautiful minute architectural detail? Stumbled upon designer Angie Hranowsky's website today - via another blog I love, Little Green Notebook - and I must say...amazing! Some of her rooms have been in my inspiration folder for a while but I didn't know her by name. The girl loves her David Hicks La Fiorentina, as do I - who doesn't? high gloss...and ethnic rugs

The new online shelter mag High Gloss is up and rolling! The magazine's editor-in-chief is Paloma, over at the fabulous blog, La Dolce Vita. One the trends featured a few times in the first issue is ethnic rugs in the kitchen. This is a look I've been digging for a while. Whether suzani or kilim - these warm, vibrant rugs tone down the sleek and cool aspects of a kitchen. Make it seem more like a room.



I had my eye on this indoor/outdoor beauty from Pottery Barn for our kitchen. But alas, I never pulled the trigger and now it's out of stock. Doh! How great would this look with greige lower cabinets and white upper cabinets or shelves.

I have a serious girl crush on french actress anna mouglalis. she has this sort of classic, glamorous yet casual, no-effort, rocker dirty look to her that completely fascinates me. and I am jealous of her cheekbones. and her perfectly tousled hair.
