Jumping into sewing this summer with June's quilt has given me confidence to try other projects. I just bought a fantastic book by Heather Ross called Weekend Sewing.

Heather Ross is an artist whose gorgeous illustrations are most famously found on fabrics. I used her Mendocino Collection to make June's quilt. Her new book, Weekend Sewing, features 40 projects ranging from skirts to tote bags to smocked dresses. I can't wait to get started. First up - the smocked dress for June next summer...
